The low profile housing makes this an excellent choice for 2- by 6-inch joist construction common in older housing, or for installations with minimal available space. A combination of several recessed light kits can be used to accent a large area, or single lights can be strategically placed as task lighting in areas such as the kitchen, home office, or laundry room.
